A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe has accused the opposition political parties of sponsoring insecurity in the country.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, Igbokwe alleged that the opposition parties are planning to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027 via the sponsorship of banditry and other criminal activities.

The APC chieftain particularly accused the oppositions of sponsoring the vandalization of “transmission lines”.

He wrote, “The only plan they have in order to win elections in 2027 is to continue to encourage and sponsor bandits, unleash terror to the public space, vandalizing Transmission Lines, sponsoring fake news, etc. It is too late. PBAT is not their mate”.

Bellnews recalls that the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN on Sunday night said over 18 transmission towers were vandalized between January 9 and 14, 2025.

Igbokwe had recently urged members of the opposition parties aspiring for the presidency to perish the thought insisting that Tinubu would remain in power until 2031.

According to the APC chieftain, the president needs a second term to enable him to “set the records straight.”
