The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Kashim Shettima has stirred up a lot of reactions among Nigerians after he said Bola Tinubu will give Nigerians the friendly leadership of Sani Abacha. Ever since Kashim Shettima noted this on Thursday during an event in Lagos, a lot of people have been reacting.
Recall that Sani Abacha was Nigeria’s military head of state between November 17, 1993 to June 8, 1998 when he died. Abacha’s regime was known for its brutal style and disregard for human rights and massive crackdown on media, civil rights groups and pro-democracy campaigners.
This is why many people reacted when Kashim Shettima noted that Nigeria need a leader with a dose of the hospitality of Sani Abacha. According to him, among other presidential candidates, it is only Bola Tinubu that has Abacha’s qualities.
