A point of sale (POS) is a place where a customer executes the payment for goods or services and where sales taxes may become payable.

A POS transaction may occur in person or online, with receipts generated either in print or electronically.

POS has been helpful to many Nigerians and it has reduced the high influx of people to different banks on a daily basis.

Nevertheless, some POS operators have been deceitful and their actions have caused losses to many customers.

2 Things You Shouldn’t Let POS Operators Do With Your ATM Card For Safety Reasons:

1. Input The Pin Of Your Card

The pin of your ATM card is a private data and shouldn’t be made public. Disclosing your ATM card pin to a POS operator is risky and should be avoided for safety reasons. Input your card pin yourself whenever you want to make any transaction.

2. Copy Your Card Number

While making a transaction with a POS operator, don’t allow your card number to be copied out. For the sake of safety, it is advisable not to allow your card number to be copied by anyone you don’t know.
